How To Turn Your Article Writing Skills Into Mad Cash

by Winston Takeda

Article marketing has been around as long as the hills. Well, not really, but you know what I'm talking about. It's the oldest form of Internet marketing. Before there was YouTube, or Twitter or Facebook, there was article marketing. Some article marketing sites like Ezinearticles.com have been around for ages. They've been a great place for knowledgeable people to share their helpful information in exchange for a link back to their site. A fair enough trade off. The article site gets fresh content, which draws traffic. The article writer gets more chances that somebody will follow the link back to their site and earn them some extra money. Of course, that still holds true today, despite all the massive advances in technology. In this article, you'll learn how tap this for cash.

Whenever you drop a link anywhere, make sure the link is going back to a current website. All the article marketing efforts in the world won't mean squat if you're site isn't up to day. It's got to have a fresh landing page with information relevant to what's on the mind of the reader. Otherwise, you're just wasting time.

If your intention is to sell something, don't be shy about it. Don't worry, people love buying stuff. You won't get very far by tricking somebody by promising something for free, and then sending them to an obvious sales page. This will turn them off quicker than a cold shower in an ice factory.

Whatever you write about, it's got to be interesting. Nobody's going to click on the link at the bottom of your article if they are too bored to make it through. Make sure the content is about something that captures and interest and imagination of the reader. Don't give away the store, though. Leave a little something to be desired, so they feel the absolutely must click on the link at the bottom to find out more information.

Many people fail simply because they don't have a plan. Remember, it's all a numbers game. The more articles you write, the more people will read them, and eventually get to your site. If one article gets one hundred views, which results in 20 clicks back to your site, and you know what percent of visitors result in sales, it's just a matter of how many articles you've got to write that will generate a sale. Then simply plan your time accordingly. Most people never take the time to understand the numbers. They just write full speed ahead without measuring any kind of results. This is like driving around without knowing where you are going. This gets you nowhere quick. And you'll run out of gas in the process.

If you are in a really competitive niche, it's going to be a lot tougher. If you're the only person on the planet writing about your topic, and there's sufficient interest, you're going to get a lot of traffic. But if there's a hundred other people writing about the same thing, you're going to have an uphill battle. If that's the case, you've got to find out something that you can write about that your competition knows nothing about. Don't worry, this is the spirit of business that has forged society for thousands of years. It's in your blood.

Many people choose a topic to go after, spend some time chasing it, and then do market research. This is backwards. Only choose niches to enter that you have some kind of chance of succeeding. Figure out which niches you're comfortable promoting, and then simply go after the easiest one. No sense in making life hard on yourself.

When you take the time to do it right, and treat it like a business, you can make quite a bit of money with article marketing. Just do your research, come up with a realistic plan, and execute.
