Southern California Beach Wedding Destinations

by Mark Pommett

Is Southern California really the greatest place for beach weddings? Let me give you a hint: sunshine, sunshine, and more sunshine. With predictable sunny weather California offers the perfect environment for an outdoor wedding. Perhaps it's the seaside resort of Laguna Beach or the deep blue skies of San Diego, Southern California has much to offer. With a gentle Mediterranean climate, a California beach wedding offers immense pleasure.

When planning your beach wedding the first thing to consider is where and when. The most popular time of the year is certainly the summer but fortunately in Southern California anytime of the year is great. As a precaution, I always pack some warm clothing when attending a beach wedding because you never know when a cool breeze might sneak in.

Having decided when to wed the next step is where - this is my favorite part. Los Angeles, California is a great place for weddings. There are a bundle of beautiful wedding locations in Orange County - a real beach lover's paradise. With the majority of residents and small business hugging the sparkling coast Newport Beach provides a plethora of luxury hotels, fine dinning, and outstanding wedding vendors.

Back in Los Angeles you have the opportunity to visit Venice, Santa Monica, or Marina Del Ray. Equally enchanting in their own respect, all three have something unique to offer. Venice is known for its eclectic culture, funky little stores, and bustling beach community. Fortunately, the beaches are public and guest parking is accessible. It's a good practice to check with local officials to make sure your wedding date is still available.

If extravagant is on your mind, then an upscale wedding is for you. What better way to immerse yourself in beach euphoria than to visit Malibu beach. Located a half hour north of Los Angeles, Malibu is a popular hotspot for the rich and famous. One of my favorite beaches is Zuma Beach - a great remedy for those longing to get away from the noise of the city. If you're looking for maximum romance on your wedding day than a beach wedding may be the solution. Try it and you'll thank me.
