Teaching an old gambling dog new tricks with online casinos
Ever since I could remember entering the workplace, I often looked forward to the day I could throw in my hat and call it quits. I especially felt that way immediately after my alarm clock stirred me from my slumber on a snowy winters morning. Half awake, I would crawl out from the comfort of my warm bed, take a steaming hot shower, and dress myself for the elements. It was what was to come next that I despised like nothing else. Shocked awake by the too brisk morning air, I would be met by a windshield waiting to be scraped and a white-knuckle snail paced commute to work. Awaiting me at my destination was a boss who expected too much and appreciated very little. It didn't take me long to start dreaming of retirement. The days passed, as well as the years, until finally one summer morning that long awaited moment arrived. Retirement. The newness of my freedom delighted me. I indulged in long-forgotton hobbies, tinkered around the house, and read the paper from front to back cover. I set up card games with my other retired friends and planned outings with my adult children. But then winter came along, and everything changed. A few friends fled to warmer climates. Those that stayed hibernated. I found myself tagging along my wife around the house, longing to fight the lonliness that had started to engulf me. My son saw my plight and had delivered to me his solution. A computer. More precisely, the internet. With patience he tried to teach this old dog how to surf the web. "Type in what you want to look up" he told me. I knew what I missed most, and with a grin typed in "POKER". As the search results displayed before me, my winter depression instanty lifted. It was then that I discovered online poker playing. It was a world that I never knew existed. In the warmth of my own home, all by myself, I could spend idle time playing my beloved poker. Heck, I could even play in my pajamas! Wide-eyed, I clicked on a site dedicated to online casinos titled Casino Dawgs. Suddenly winter didn't seem so bleak.
