It can perform revision control and maintains strict control over the document or content security and integrity. Enterprise content management systems offer many benefits to its implementers. Large businesses who implement enterprise content management systems see that they can more effectively meet their business goals through such systems. They can increase their profit and make more efficient use of their budget. They are better able to serve their customers, which gives them a completive edge in the market. The system also provides alerts for meeting up with government regulations, thereby enabling the organization to protect itself against non-compliance, law-suits and uncoordinated departments. Large enterprises do not consider investing in an enterprise content management systems as expense because the system provides for efficient preservation and re-usability of documents. Only authorized persons are allowed to use and view documents. Enterprises that use such systems do not have to face legal proceedings, loss of business and the inability to perform simple customer service interactions. Such problems are taken care of by the system because it ensures smooth document management and control. Documents can be retrieved as and when required to make changes and distributed to customers and business partners. With information properly controlled, the time and cost spent in such activities greatly reduces, the effect of which is seen in the organization’s profitability in the long run.
