What Does It Takes To Be Successful Working From Home?
Tip # 1 : Create a business plan!
Over the years of working out of my home whether it be online or for someone else, I have discovered that you need a business plan. Opening your own business without a plan is like going on a road trip without a map, getting lost along the way and not reaching your destination.
The door to an online business is no different than any other business venture, it’s just that the door is different. It still takes proper planning, commitment, resources and an advertising budget. If you set a plan you will succeed.
Tip# 2 Focus
Having a home base business can be very frustrating at times. Sometimes you feel like you are spinning your wheels and not getting anywhere. The one thing that I have learned is you need to focus and not let the small things interrupt you. If you are working on something don’t get side-tracked and go off in another direction. Otherwise you don’t get anything done at all. I know that can be hard at times. You have children, a hubby that doesn’t understand the internet, unexpected company drops by, all sorts of different interruptions that keep you from working.
What you have to do, is set aside the times that work best for you and keep that schedule for work. Set aside times for the non work related items.
Tip # 3 Goals
Goals are very important. They are what keeps you on track, getting the work done that needs to be done. Every morning or at the end of the day make a list of all the things you want to get done for the next day . Try to put them in order of priority. At the end of that day go through your list and cross off what you have achieved and move any projects that did not get done to the following day. By doing this you will find that you will accomplish more throughout your week and can look back and pat yourself on the back for staying focused.
