How to Know God-Self

by Richard Blackstone

You have the same creative powers as God. This is the key to your spiritual growth. You may not know this in your daily consciousness but your spirit knows this at all times. The secret to life is in creating your life in any manner that you choose. You may be asking yourself, “Well, if we are creating all of the experiences in our lives and creating the world we live in, then why isn't my life more in alignment with how I desire it to be and why is the world in the mess that it seems to be in?” These are the questions that we all ask ourselves in the privacy of our own thoughts and the mere asking of these questions is the beginning of the solution to the perceived problems that we face both individually and as a world society. The creative process of thought, word and deed is predicated on the premise that whatever it is that you desire or have an intention to fulfill must also include a belief, or a knowing, that what you wish to create is possible within your framework of thinking and beliefs. If you are totally enlightened and in alignment with your highest consciousness, you would absolutely believe and know that all things are possible. You would have absolute faith that is beyond hoping. This absolute faith of what is possible for you is in direct proportion to what you hold as your basic belief system of life. When you are less than totally enlightened and not in alignment with your highest consciousness, you still create in accordance with what you believe and know is possible for you. It is just that what you believe and know is possible for you is much more limited in scope and therefore you limit yourself as to what you create and how you choose what you create.

You do not create with absolute faith and abandonment. There is more an element of hoping that something will happen for you, rather than a knowing that what you truly desire will manifest itself into your reality. Once again, your faith about what is possible for you is in direct proportion to what you hold as your belief system of life. It is not necessary for you to be in a constant state of total consciousness for you to align yourself with the flow of the universal force that manifests your intentions and desires. All you need is a little willingness for these things to be true to you.

You do not need to believe them wholly in your mind because the truth does not exist in your mind. If the truth existed in your mind, then how would you explain the concept that it is okay to kill someone, or the idea that an innocent baby could die through an automobile accident? These are not the absolute truths of our lives. The mind has access to the absolute truths in our lives but it does not function as the sole conduit of those truths. The function of the mind is to bring forth the information and options for you to choose from. Then you can choose from this catalogue of information what you choose to experience.

Within this catalogue of information are those elements of absolute truth that are available to us at all times. You have free will to choose or not choose the absolute truths that are part of this inventory of information. The source of the absolute truths of our beingness is the metaphysical part of us that we know of as spirit. Can you begin to see how metaphysical is different than nonphysical? The spirit, or metaphysical part of us, is our direct link to the realm of the absolute from which all things come. Our spirit is all knowing and has no needs. Our spirit knows that we are eternal and is therefore unconcerned with the concept of death. Our spirit knows that the outcome of our lives is never in doubt because we are one with the eternal source of all that is. This supreme knowingness differentiates the spirit from the mind and the body. The spirit (the metaphysical) influences the body (the physical) and the mind (the nonphysical) but they are never dictated to or forced to do the bidding of the spirit. That would run counter to the entire concept of free will that is the very reason and essence of our existence. We are free to be and do whoever and whatever we choose to be and do. Once again, there is no agenda set out for us except what we choose as an agenda. We develop our own agenda by using the three parts of our beingness.

When we are in total balance with our mind, body and spirit selves we are able to see more clearly the influence and advice that the spirit has for us. By creating in unity and harmony the mind, body and spirit are fulfilling the intention of the spirit to know and experience itself as God, because your spirit is very clear on the fact that it is God, experiencing God-self through you.
