Search Engine Tips/Tricks for Today's Search Engine
Let me share a short story with you... first. I have been marketing on search engines since 1995. Back then, Infoseek was huge, and they had 'instant inclusion' of webpages submitted. In other words, if you figured out how to create a page that would be #1 for a given keyword, then you would be #1 within seconds of submitting. It was like the gold rush! And I took full advantage.
Search engine marketing gets more and more difficult with each passing year; the competition is crazy; the search engines have gotten smarter. Examining all this together, I will attempt to come up with comprehensive, yet simple, ways around these issues.
Step One: Examine the problem. Why is SEO so difficult, and what can I do to learn about it easily?
Well, there is no surefire way to optimize your pages today. The search engines are smarter; the way they rank pages these days is not based solely on the static content of the page. Backlinks, PR (Google pagerank), updated content, etc. are all equally important.
One of the best places I've found for info about everything I'm talking about here is:
This is a great resource with guides and discussions for all the large search engines. Study this page, and you will be well on your way to learning all about SEO.
Step Two: I've optimized, but traffic still isn't coming in like I want it to.
When optimizing pages, backlinks, etc. were no longer enough to get the traffic needed to sustain an online business, people started paying for clicks. This worked really well at first, and ROI (return on investment) was really high. But competition became fierce, and ROI dropped.
So, now we not only have to study to become an expert in optimization, but also in buying pay-per-clicks. Adwords (Google's pay-per-click program) is not an easy thing to master these days.
Here is a great course that give's you all you need to succeed with Google adwords:

It has worked wonders for all my ad campaigns; I couldn't live without it.
And to offset the cost of advertising, I recently came upon a way to get all my Google ads nearly free. This idea is revolutionary. It's not easy, but it can be done...I've already done it on two of my campaigns. That info is here:
Great info that should help immensely with your advertising ventures!
------------------------------------------------------------
After optimizing all your pages, creating blogs (Google loves blogs!), creating the perfect adwords campaigns, and working on getting those Google ads free...you should be well on your way to success!
Don't worry if everything seems to be going badly. It will all turn around. Just remember it takes time and work to succeed, no matter what field you're in. Good luck, and happy SEOing!!
