Building Your Opt-In List

As you build your web site business, the need for your own opt-in list is a necessity for your continued success.

Unfortunately you can't just email everybody because of the laws that are in place to protect people so as to prevent other people from Spamming them with endlessly unwanted emails.

Here are a few ideas on ways that you can build your opt-in list safety and effectively.

Home Page

On the home page of your web site create a small form or link where people who visited your site can sign up for something. That can be anywhere from a free newsletter, a free marketing course, free E-book or report etc..

Keep the form very simple, just a name and email address. Also include a disclaimer that you appreciate their privacy and do not give out or sell their information to anyone. This is called a single opt-in list.

Double Opt-In

This is not necessary but it is an option that some marketers like to use to be double sure that the person really did sign up for information from their site and agreed to get emails from them.

How this works is that when a person lands on your web site and fills out the form for more information or free offer and such, their name goes into an autoresponders which will send out an email to that person to verify their email address.

The email will simply state that we received a request for us to provide you with such and such information, please click this link to verify your email address and we will send you your request.

With every email you send out to your lists, always include a link for them to opt-out (be taken off your list)

Sometimes your autoresponders will sort these out for you or you sometimes need to manually delete them from your list.

Buy Opt-in Email Addresses

Depending what type of niche or product or program that your web site is involved with will determine what type of email leads you need to buy.

Do a complete search for email lead brokers on the Internet, find the ones that carry the type of leads you need and also do a little background search on the broker to be sure they do things above board and provide you with good addresses.

By buying a large portion of email addresses, this can really help jump start your business instead of waiting for people to come to your site through other marketing means to opt-in to your mailings.

How To Mail To Your List

The fast and easy way to mail your message out to your list is through he use of autoresponders. You simply load the names into the autoresponders, load your message into the program and let it run and monitor the results.

The amount of people that respond to your email will determine how good the list was or the offer that you mailed out.

The whole goal here is to get as many people opted into your web site so that through out the year you can send them promotional emails that you in turn can try and convert into sales.
