Spiritual Balance Will Wake You Up

by Richard Blackstone

“Why was the universe created in the first place?” “What is my purpose for being?” “Who am I?” “Why is life a struggle?” “How can I live in peace and happiness?” “Why can't I attract more abundance into my life?”

Do you believe that if you had the answers to these questions, and many more like them, you would have a happier and more fulfilling life? The answers to these questions, and many more, lie within you and you can access them at any time.

It is first essential for you to become aware of what the real concept of “spirituality” is all about. You need to understand the core concepts of your very “beingness” because these concepts and ideals affect every facet of your life. By understanding the nuts and bolts concepts of spirituality, you will be able to see the tools, which you already possess, that can transform your life from one of “quiet desperation” to one of “active manifestation.”

Think about it. You have, within you, the ability to create the life of your intentions and desires. The key is to seek clarity on the foundation of core concepts from which to build a more balanced, spiritually based life. When you understand the whys and wherefores of your existence and purpose, you can integrate these essential building blocks however you choose, and in so doing, transform yourself and the world we live in.

It is all about coming to know the part of you that is spirit and how to put yourself back into balance. Once you achieve this balance you can understand yourself as the mind-body-spirit being you really are. You then become aware that you have a relationship with all that is in our world and how, by living in this awareness, you can use that relationship to consciously create your life.

The goal is simply to wake up to “who you really are”, because most of us, myself included, have been sleepwalking through our lives. We have been making unconscious choices and then lamenting about how life isn't fair. We ask “why did this happen to me.” We say “somebody else did something to me,” or “what has happened is not my fault.”

When you bring your spiritual side back into your life, you will quit saying those things. You won't be making excuses because you will understand that you are the creator of your own life and you are responsible for how you create your life. You will wake up and be aware of the beauty and bounty that surrounds you. Best of all, you will come to know that 'The Beatles' had it right all along when they sang, “All You Need is Love.”

It is all a matter of choice and the choice begins right now. In this moment of now, you can choose to live your life with an open mind and open heart and change your life forever, or you can continue to sleepwalk through life and live with the consequences of your unconscious choices.

The choice is yours. You have always been at choice. You will always be at choice. But you need to be awake to make the choices that serve you best. This is important because the world needs you right now. The world is in trouble. We live on a planet that is truly a paradise, but we have unbelievable poverty, hunger, and suffering throughout the world. Not only in the non-industrialized countries of the world, but here in the United States of America. The United States projects an image to the world of wealth, culture, and opportunity, but when it comes to living up to these platitudes we see that everything is a matter of perspective.

Our “wealth” is determined by how much money we have. We acknowledge that there is a small upper strata of wealthy people, but the bulk of society is in the comfortable, less comfortable, or poverty zones. And this gap is getting wider.

Our “culture” believes the capitalistic idea that to have more is better. We promote this idea to the world and take what we need in the form of raw material or cheap labor to invest in our “culture.” We then feed it back to the world in the form of cheap material possessions, which further the image that we have more, so we are better.

Our “opportunity” is skewed according to ones social standing, skin color, and gender. What has evolved from this “more is better” mentality is a fractured society that equates eating well to the ability to eat at fast food restaurants. It equates mobility to being able to go into debt to purchase a SUV, which guzzles gas and pollutes the planet. It equates health care to having a pill or an assortment of pills to cure what ails you. Finally, “more is better” equates having a meaningful life into somehow acquiring a job where you can make enough money to buy a house, go to Disneyland, and have enough money in the stock market so you don't have to live on Social Security. How did all this happen? We created it by living unconsciously as individuals and as societies. But here's the rub. We can just as easily create a world of peace, joy, love and abundance by waking up to our true authentic selves and living our lives consciously.

It all starts with you.
