The super star of Tamil Cinema, Vikram enjoys great commercial success and artistic talent. Boldly facing all obstacles in his life he has reached a star status and enjoys iconic adoration in Tamil Cinema today.Vikram was born on April 17 ,1966, in Paramkkdi ,Ramnad district ,Tamilnadu. After completing his school from Mount Ford School, Yercaud he did his English graduation from Loyola College, Chennai. Then he did his MBA from the same college. After getting married to Shaila he has two children Dhruv and Akshita.His success in films is a result of his individual’s efforts and dedication. He did not have any godfather in films with the help of whom he could make an entry into the film industry. He has the aim of becoming an actor from his childhood. His first Tamil film was Meera ,which did not do well in the box office. Film Sethu was the breaking point in his career and after that there has not been any look back. Starring in the big hits of Tamil Cinema he is one of the renowned hero’s of Tamil Film Industry. After the success of Sethu, he is often addressed as Chiyaan, named after his character in the film.Some of his big hits in Tamil Film Industry are Sethu, Dhil, Kasi, Dhool, Saamy, Gemini, Pithamagan and Anniyan. With numerous blockbusters to his credit he won the prestigious National Film Awards of India for his performance as an undertaker in Pithamagan, 2003. His favorite actresses are Sandra Bullock, Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts and actors Robert de Nero, Rajinikanth. Having a flavor for singing he has sung in the album Kadhalism with Meenafor the movie 'Shri' .His film Saamy was a blockbuster in which he played the role of a Deputy Commissioner of Police of Tirunelveli. The movie directed by Hari was released in 2003.His much-admired film Pithamagan that won him the National Films Award was released in 2003 and directed by Bala. Vikram played the role of Chithan who is orphaned at a young age, devoid of all human contacts lives on his animal instincts and is a graveyard caretaker. In his much talked about film Sethu, he played the role of a rough and macho college president, who uses violence as the only way to deal with people. Directed by Bala and released in 1999 the movie won the Silver Lotus Award for Best Regional Film in Tamil.He plays the role of a Brahman in Anniyan, the first Indian movie to be dubbed in French and released world-wide in French speaking countries. A 2005 high budget Tamil movie it is directed by S.Shankar.His much awaited movie Bheema is being directed by Lingusamy which also stars Trisha. With his excellent performance and dedicated work he is sure to win hearts of the Tamil movie viewers and gain more awards in near future.
