Learn to Get Women the Perfect Gift
I have for years struggled with buying presents for people and I have to admit that I have in the past succumbed to the easy out method with gift certificates. Not that there is anything wrong with that if that is what the person really wants. (It usually isn't.) My wife though doesn't appreciate gift certificates at all. So I went a on a quest. How can we get the ones that we love the perfect gifts? When it comes to women, it couldn't be easier to shop for them. Women are surprisingly very easy to shop for. So listen up men I am going to give you some of the best advice that you can get in your life. It is free advice and I know the old adage about free advice but this advice wasn't free to me. So, consider it a gift. No thanks necessary. Here goes. You need to listen to your wife. I know. Duh, but let me explain. Most men are like me, procrastinators. The anniversary is two weeks away and that warning light to get the perfect gift just doesn't go on. Like the gas meter in the car that we like to ignore, we also ignore that little time meter in our heads when we realize our anniversary is creeping up. Bing, Bing. Still got 14 days to buy that gift but we don't actively do anything. So what do we do? A week rolls around and we are getting a little antsy but our attention wavers so easily. Five days before we know we are running on fumes but we don't do anything. We know it is close but our attention isn't on it because it seems so hard. We rack our brains but don't come up with the right answer. Three days are here and we have no clue what we are going to do so we discredit our gender by doing the worst thing possible. We ask them what they want. Not many marital sins rank above this faux pa. Let's get out of this rut because really it is so easy. By the way, there is a reason that women get so upset when you come right out and ask. The reason is that they have been telling you for months. When they pull you aside and say "Isn't that awesome?", Isn't this pretty?" "I love this. What do you think?" or "I have always wanted..." When they do this, we need to turn our heads away from the television or get our nose out of the paper and listen. Don't worry. You only have to listen for a second and make a mental note. Remind yourself each day for a couple of days the brand name and the name of the product. Write it down if you are a scatterbrain like me. Then whether it is a birthday, anniversary, or whatever you will have many ideas for that gift. Not only will you have given her something that she really likes but you will get megapoints for actually listening to her.
