For lots of people, they seek out Google to bring them the most traffic, however many people might be better off optimizing their sites for other search engines in order to increase their profit or Adsense revenue. Most people think that Google is the Holy Grail, but take a good look at your visitor logs, you might be surprised to find out that most of your traffic might be coming from Yahoo, AOL, or MSN. Good optimizers know when they see a good thing. So, if your particular web site is geared towards one of the four search engines, optimize it specifically for that search engine.

Yahoo and MSN like meta tags and keyword density. Google likes direct links and page age. There are so many differences between the different search engines that making a web page for all search engines can be foolish. When creating a web site figure out which search engine you are trying to get the attention for. Don’t spend days trying to optimize your page for Google, when there is plenty of traffic coming from Yahoo. So the next you build a web site, remember, different strategies for different search engines.
