Asheville NC Cabins- Fun For the Whole Family
I feel pretty lucky that our whole family gets to take a least two vacations every year. While we tend to pick new and exciting places to visit each year, one vacation remains the same- we always visit Asheville. NC cabins in that area are numerous, although we've found the one that suits our family the best and we like to return there as often as possible. My advice would be this: if you're looking for NC Mountain cabin rentals, don't settle for anything less than that which you desire.
The first few years we made the trip up to WNC, we just found an affordable place, sent the dogs over to my sister's for the week, and headed on up to the mountains. For the most part, we had a nice time, although we always missed our dogs pretty badly. Then, we wised up and researched Asheville pet friendly cabins. Our vacations have been greatly improved ever since we've been able to include to family pets on our annual trip.
Each year, we stay at Cabin Cove Farm. They have a rental cabin on their farm- it is a working farm, by the by- and the fun we have on the farm itself is just as important as the activities we choose to do in the surrounding areas. The Leicester location is very convenient for us- it is great to be able to go into the town of Asheville so easily, and we also like the proximity to places like Maggie Valley, Hot Springs, and Waynesville. Of course, we often spend more time on the farm than we do anywhere else, and who wouldn't, with such a beautiful farm that offers so many activities!
Our son is really into animals, so his favorite thing to do is take treats to the llamas and goats. That's the first thing he does each morning- run down to say "hi" to all the animals. He's also discovered the meditation room in the barn, which has been a practice he's trying to keep up at home as well. Our daughter, on the other hand, took some pottery and jewelry classes last year at Cabin Cove Farm, and now we've got quite the little artist on our hands.
While all of these activities are enjoyed by me and my wife, I think our favorite things to do are to take long walks in the mornings, and sit in the hot tub at night, looking up at the stars. Being out of the big city, we can see so many more stars that at home, which makes it feel like a very magical place. Although we often try to time our visit to catch one of the fun mountain festivals happening in the area, we have been thinking of making our trip two weeks next year, just so we can spend more time on the farm!
