Want To Know Why You Are Fat?

by Rob Harris

If you knew why people gain fat, it would be easier to lose weight because you'd know how you gained it and therefore could stop it in the first place. In this article you will find out about this.

Gaining weight is caused by several factors, which include eating food that contains a lot of calories.

Junk food and many other fast foods are rich in calories and when you consume a lot of these you will definitely get fat. A practical, real life example is when you spend less money than you get, you are saving money. This is similar to getting fat in the sense that when you eat more calories than you lose, you gain more weight than when you control amount of calories you consume.

Another reason why people happen to be fat is due to lack of exercise. Becoming fat starts with the slowing of the metabolism, which results from laxity in the use of muscles.

Lack of proper exercise reduces an individual's metabolism because the muscles will not be active and fewer calories will be burn resulting in weight gain. When a person does exercise, his/her metabolism changes such that he becomes resistant to gaining weight because muscles become active.

Improper dieting is another reason people become fat. If a person fails to control his or her diet, he or she will gain weight because they do not know the quantity of nutrients that are contained in the food that they are eating.

Eating foods such as vegetables, fruits and drinking plenty of water also help the body from gaining surplus weight.

Eating a lot of food is another major catalyst of weight gain. People may over eat owing to a range of reasons, which might include reaction to stress and even need to supplement absent pleasures. These poor eating habits lead to adding weight, especially when an appropriate mechanism of burning calories that would have resulted from the habit has not been developed.

Genetics of a person also leads to the putting on of weight. Some people are born with genetic material that naturally makes them put on fat. These genes could be hereditary in the sense that they are inherited from parents to children and subsequent generations.

Lack of enough sleep also contributes to immense weight gain. People who sleep less crave high calorie foods especially mothers after pregnancy. They tend to crave a lot of food that make them gain weight. Still, medical conditions such as inflammation of thyroid gland also add weight especially to women after pregnancy.
