New Website Offers Free Apartment Listings

A new website that lets renters search for apartments using an array of search terms is also offering apartment owners and managers free rental listings.To launch ApartmentsOnTheWeb (www.apartmentsontheweb.com), which covers the Greater Milwaukee area for apartment listings, the website is offering free rental listings for apartment owners and managers. According to Ronald Barenz, Jr., one of the website’s founders, “One of the advantage of the website for potential renters is that we have a search function that enables them to search for apartments by location, by rental price, by size (bedrooms and baths), and by amenities.”Barenz pointed out that most apartment search sites are run through national databases. Also, some search sites are tied to a printed magazine. He noted further that the free search sites provide limited information for renters.Barenz commented, “Our web site is local, which means we pay attention to local conditions and needs. Also, unlike other free sites, we allow building owners and managers to provide complete information about their apartment rentals.”ApartmentsOnTheWeb provides apartment listings for Milwaukee and suburban areas and offers apartment managers and owners several options for listing their available apartments. A free listing includes up to 100 words of text describing the apartment along with other information such as size, rent, square footage, amenities, etc. A web site address and phone number can also be included. In addition, a map to the apartment is provided.For those apartment managers and owners who want to include photos and want to insure their rental listing appears in the first search results, several options are available for a minimum fee.ApartmentsOnTheWeb was started by Barenz and David Tietyenm. Both have ties to the Rader School of Business at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Barenz is a recent graduate and Tietyen is on the faculty.
