Let's face it, we all dread tax season. Yet, it comes every year, so we have to face it! So much to consider, collect, organize, prepare-- which form do I use? Should I do my own taxes or hire a preparer? Who can I ask if I have just a couple of questions? Where can I get free information? To make matters worse, most of us wait until the last minute to file creating a complete nightmare of a stressful situation.
Many tax preparers, as well as the IRS, are now using a new venue of social media networks to communicate tax information to the public in regards to preparing taxes. In the age of technology with the onset of wireless handheld devices and computers, it is only in the best interest of the Internal Revenue Service and tax preparers to use social media networks to its benefit. By imploring the use of these networks, tax information can be relayed to the public in a quick, up-to-date manner. Tax payers no longer need to be on hold on telephone lines for hours or stand in long lines at the tax office to receive valid information needed to abide by the law and complete tax forms accurately.
Information on tax preparation and filing can now be found on social media networks as Twitter, Google News Search, and YouTube. These networks make the process of filing taxes much simpler and quicker to get answers to some of the most complicated tax questions.
The Internal Revenue Service has two Twitter accounts dedicated to provide accurate, time-sensitive information to tax payers - @IRSnews and @IRStaxpros. The @IRSnews Twitter account provides up-to-date information to tax payers on items, such as the latest tax credit or deduction information. The @IRStaxpros allows Twitter users to tweet questions regarding tax filing with the notion of receiving the most accurate information. These Twitter accounts are available year-round, but obviously are more used as tax season approaches and the tax deadline nears.
Another social media network to gain valuable tax preparation and filing information is the Google News Search. It has increased its power searching tools and ease of searches for gathering information, especially in relation to taxes. Google's News Search provides users with more specialized search results tailored to the needs of the user. Go to Google.com/news and type in some tax keywords and you will see a wealth of information pop up to pursue at your leisure.
The YouTube social media network has also become a very popular tool in information gathering. The Internal Revenue Service has taken advantage of this popularity by creating its very own YouTube Channel. The channel currently includes over 100 videos on how to complete a multitude of tax forms and the proper processes for filing taxes. So if you're a visual learner, go see what these videos can help you with this year.
It's a new world, and information can be retrieved very quickly in relation to any topic. It makes it easier for people to find important information, now that government agencies have become more user friendly and internet oriented. Social media networks have taken a strong hold in the movement of technology, making things like the processing of taxes, much easier to accomplish.
