Lake Como is around 50 km long and to the west of Menaggio. This is the point where the lake splits in two into the famous Y formation. There are many fine little Italian towns situated around the lake, with most being off the beaten track it is worth going in search of these.

Lake como is a lake of glacial form situated in Lombardy, in beautiful Italy. It is the third largest lake in Italy, coming after Lake Garda and Lake Maggiore. It is one of the deepest lakes in Europe and it is over 400 meters deep and at the bottom around 200 meters below sea level with it being fed by the Adda River.

Many hotels are across the road from the lakeside and many have stunning views from the front rooms, pool and terraces across the lake to Bellagio, with most also having elegant restaurants, bars and lounges.
