Did British Welfare Benefits Create Immigration
The Work and Pensions secretary has stated that UK immigration has been driven by welfare benefits.
Gordon Brown had always proudly exclaimed "British jobs for British workers".
But what was actually acheived was British jobs going to migrant workers.
Yet another master stroke by the financial genius who ruined the UK pension system Gordon Brown.
From the start of 2004 the number of UK born workers went down by 334,000 to be constrasted with the 1.3 million who found employment who were foreign born.
Out of that total some 530,000 were born Eastern Europe and the remainder from elsewhere.
Under proposals which been suggested migrants will be denied work visas in the following:-
Estate Agents, Hair Dresser's Managers, Shop Managers
Advisers to the Brtitish government have suggested that the figure of occupations which are classified as "skilled" under the immigration rules by a third.
Other jobs which could be removed from the list may include:-
Welders, Steel Erectors,Florists,Laboratory Technicians,Beauty Salon Managers, and Pipe Fitters.
The Migration Advisory Committee has suggested to reduce the number of positions that would be eligible for the Tier 2 visas from 192 to 121.
If this was to be introduced then the number of work visas would be reduced by around 10k.
This whole mess underlines how bad the ex Labour government managed the UK during their 13 year rule.
I have to state that based on this performance I could not support Labour or their new leader Ed Miliband.
