Penis Enlargement - Going Under The Knife

by Tyler Williams

"Hey, doc, I want it bigger. What can you do?" There's something really attractive about the thought of going in to the doctor and getting what you want. Doctors, after all, can do anything. They make breasts larger and noses smaller, they fix hearts and cure disease. Why should penis enlargement surgery be any more difficult?

Unfortunately for you, it is. No matter how doctors make it seem, there are still mysteries about the penis that nobody has solved. Nobody knows how one man's penis may react to a surgical procedure, or why one person will have great results, and another will have nothing but negative side effects. Because what you may not know about surgical penis enlargement is this: it just ain't what it's cracked up to be.

Penis Lengthening Surgery

With the Penis Lengthening Surgical method, suspensory ligaments at the base of the penis are severed, causing the penis to hang lower --and longer-- than before. Sounds great, right? Well, only if your only goal for a larger penis is to show it off. Because the up to two inches in length you may gain are only in the flaccid length of the penis. There is little effect on the length of the erect penis (perhaps a half inch).

Plus, there's a great risk with the surgery of penile shortening. This happens when the penis retracts into the body in order to heal itself after surgery, and scar tissue forms, shortening the penis itself. Not exactly the results the patient was looking for.

Fat Injection and Grafts

Fat injection is the safest and least invasive, but it's also one of the less effective treatments. It requires you to have the procedure done several times to have an effect, as the fat cells are destroyed or reabsorbed into the body. It also gives the penis a soft and squishy feel, even when hard. Dubious results at best.

Fat grafts are much more effective. They are, however, excruciatingly painful for months afterward. While you do gain one inch in flaccid girth and from a one-half to three-quarter inch gain in erect girth, you seriously pay for those gains. Essentially, fat and skin is taken from another area of your body and sewn on to your penis… after the skin has been removed. Patients are months in recovery and the pain --lots of it-- lasts a long, long time. Ouch.
