I've met people who say, "Earning too much money means I'll not be in the good graces of God anymore." I don't want to suffer. I believe that if you handle money the way God wants you to handle money, then it'll draw you closer to Him. There is a big peculiarity between saying, "I want to get rich for myself!" and "I want to earn more, so that I can supply my needs and also contribute to the needs of Heaven!"The difference between these two is astronomical. One will give you inner peace. The other, timeless sadness. The last-mentioned will give you wings for your flight to heaven. The former? A special knickknack with a ten-ton rock as a pendant.Personally, I made my choice long time ago. I want wings! I want to earn money and love God with every cent I have. Because of my philosophy, for many years now, I give a lot of my income away, and I have enormous satisfaction doing so. My friends, you have a choice. You can make money make you evil and corrupt and voracious and disconsolate. Or you can let money bring you closer to God and make you happy forever. Let money make you happy and holy.When money stops you from going to heaven, I recommend a drastic move: Give it up! It's better to enter heaven without money than have all the money in the world and up in hell.To remember: If your spiritual life can't handle the financial blessing, don't receive it. Because your spiritual life is the basis for your financial life.Why? I believe a healthy spiritual life will make you faithful, loyal, humble, honest and responsible-stuff you need for earning and managing your money.For years, a friend of mine was struggling with money problems. She could not keep a stable job. I remember she even had to ask money from me to attend our Bible study group.One day, her father was killed in an upshot at work-and his company was moderately at fault. Because the company was afraid of being sued , they offered my friend's family millions in an out-of-court agreement.My friend was now awash with a sea of money! From a personage who had no transportation money to attend a Bible study meeting, she now drove a brand new luxury car. Ironically, she stopped attending the Bible study session because she was too busy starting her own entrepreneurial pursuits.After two years the business went under, the luxury automobile was confiscated, and all her money went up in smoke.My friend went back to begging for urban transportation service money so that she could attend our prayer meetings again. A sad story.My friend's spiritual lifestyle simply wasn't ready for money. Her story reminded of what Dr. Wayne Dyer said. " How could you ever have owned anything at all? The best that we can do is to have temporary possesion of our toys for a tiny speck of time."Work your soul then your moneybag."And Jesus answered him,saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God." (Luke: 4-4)
