Diamond is the most precious and expensive stone in the world. Every woman would like to wear it. Diamond is the best friend of ladies. It also reflects the person’s wealth. The person who owns it shows the sense of pride and honor. Each diamonds is known for their unique beauty and quality. Diamond is a also known for its hardness, diamonds have also emerged as the symbol of love, romance and marriage through the years. These gemstones have become God’s gift to mankind; they are nature’s hidden treasures. This list is a compilation of the most expensive diamonds in the world today. With their unparalleled brilliance, these diamonds have become a reminder that the Earth is still the home of hidden wealth and natural bounty needed to be discovered.

1) Kohinoor Diamond: - It is top of the list among all expensive diamonds & in the purest form in the world. Its weight is 105 carats or 21.6 g diamond that was once the largest known diamond in the world and is considered as the most precious stone. The Kohinoor originated at Kollur, Guntur district in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India. It was finally seized by the East India Company and became part of the British Crown Jewels when Queen Victoria was proclaimed Empress of India in 1877.

2) The Sancy Diamond:- It’s a number 2 diamond and its name was derived from its first known owner, Nicholas Harlai, Seigneur de Sancy. This is the first diamond to be cut with symmetrical facets. It is look like Pale yellow in color, the Sancy Diamond around 55.23 carats i.e. 11.05 g. This gemstone believed to be discovered from Golconda in India around 1400s and was belonged to various Indian rulers including the famous ancient Great Mogul and currently housed in the Apollo Gallery of the Louvre Museum in France.

3) The Cullinan Diamond:- Cullinan is one of the largest rough gem quality diamond in the world. This diamond is measured to be 3,106.75 carats and 621.35 g. This large diamond was then cut into 9 smaller diamond pieces from which the largest polished diamond was named Cullinan I or First Star of Africa, and the 530.2 carats and 106.0 g, which I is now mounted on the head with a stick Cross. Second largest part is Cullinan II or the Little Star of Africa, at 317.4 carats or 63.5 g which is fourth largest diamond in the world. It was discovered in 1905 from premier mine of South Africa.

4) The Hope Diamond:- Hope diamond is at number four from among all the expensive diamonds but at number two for most visited artwork after Mona Lisa. Its color is deep blue which is more attractive and its weight is a 45.52 carat i.e. 9.10 g. It is found in the Smithsonian Natural History Museum in Washington D.C.

5) De Beers Centenary Diamond:- De beers centenary diamond is at number five and It is also third largest diamond has been discovered from the Premier Mine and was introduced in May 1991 and later given a 247 facets to give it the amazing look. Its is 273. 85 carat and weights is 54. 77 g. This diamond was sold to a young entrepreneur of Israeli and British origin who lives in the United States in June 2008.
