Yes, there is a way to achieve it, but look out! Get ready for a long and bumpy ride before you see any real results come your way… This is not the time to be leaving your JOB and all of it’s built-in – if boring – security, just so you can pursue your dream of ‘mega-millionaire-hood” online! I’m going to outline here, the things one should consider, and the plans one should make prior to telling your boss to shove it – because you might just have to wait for a while before the big money strikes. Then I’ll show you some resources that have been very helpful to me in my pursuit of internet freedom……. There are many things to consider prior to starting your online business. I’ll list them below. First you need to take out a piece of paper and a pen and decide on the structure of your business. No business was ever started and run successfully without a plan of attack – and this needs to be as explicit and clear as you can make it. Ask questions; where do I want to be in one month, three months, six months and so on; how much do I want to invest; how much do I want to make; what kind of business will I have; will I sell things, or will I get involved in investments; that kind of process. Do what you feel passionate about, not something that you really don’t care for – people will know that you’re pretending – even through the written word! Once you have a clear plan then you can start.
PRODUCT If you are going to sell things online, there are two questions you need to answer for yourself: Will I create a product or products? Will I sell other people’s products and be an affiliate?
If you choose to create your own product, the most likely thing you will do at first is write about it. That’s an information product. Think about your hobbies or the things that “light your fire”. OK, now I can hear the cries of, “but no-one is interested in anything I have to say!” echoing all across America… If no-one is interested, then why do we have things like fly-fishing magazines, or publications about the best way to paint nails? Exactly, because people are interested, and they will read something an expert like you will write. So, get writing….
If you choose to be an affiliate, the best way to get started is to do some research. Clickbank is a really good organization that lists all of the products that sell the best as affiliates. Here’s what happens. You go to Clickbank, sign up, and look for stuff you’re interested in from the categories they have on display. Most of the time, you don’t even need to do that much – they assign you a website and a URL to promote then off you go. Go take a look:

WEBSITE If you plan on having your own product, then you’ll need to have various things that allow you to be online. They are: a website; a domain name; a way to collect money from your buyers. There are many, many “hosting” companies around, but the two I like the best are:

RANKING Now we get to something that’s a little more in detail.. ranking in the search engines. There are literally hundreds of search engines, but the ones that everyone knows about are Google, Yahoo, MSN – they seem to be the biggies. Now you need to understand that going to your hosting company and simply throwing a website on the net is NOT running a business. This website is your baby, you’ve put an awful lot of work into it and you need to take care of it. You will not get seen if you don’t know how to get ranked. So, here’s how it works. ? People put in a phrase or word that they want to see information on – let’s say ‘fly-fishing’ ? Every website with that ‘keyword’ – a phrase is also classed as a keyword – will be displayed – this might amount to 50 million sites! ? Without careful research, your website may – if it has been indexed – be number 49,899,999 – out of that 50 million. So, 10 websites per page = tons of websites before yours! See what I mean? So you have to research the best keyword phrases to include in your ‘homepage’ – these are the ones that the indexing “crawlers” will pay attention to and that will increase your chances of a high ranking that people will see. Three ways you can do this: Invest in Beating Adwords and see exactly how to use words pertinent to your site: http://www.keywordbiz.info Spend some time doing research at Google; Invest in a keyword program that lets you put in your keyword and will automatically do the research for you! Frankly, you could spend days doing your own manual searches, and if that really floats your boat then go for it. However, when you’re in the business of starting a business, you need every spare moment for other stuff. So, you’ve got your product, your website, and hopefully a good ranking – it takes about three months to get the ranking part because that’s how long it takes the crawlers to research you – what next? What about…..
TRAFFIC This is the great challenge for any business owner on the net – how do I get people to go see my site? Of course the answer is to advertise. This can be very time consuming and expensive. People will tell you that the very best way to get traffic is to use “pay-per-click” ads. However, if you don’t know what you’re doing, you could end up losing your shirt by just doing that. There are a multitude of free advertising resources that you can use; blogs, safe email lists, free ads, FFA pages. A word of caution though, it’s best to invest in programs that will do the work for you. These can be bought a little at a time, and can be extremely effective in bringing people to your door wanting to buy your product!
