Wind Turbine Kit: 2 Big Advantages

by Roger Brown

The wind turbine kit has become a very popular device and a great way to get up and running fast if you're looking you make green energy at home. The alternatives are building this type of system from a set of plans or, going directly to the dealer and letting them do the whole process for you.

The reason the wind turbine kit is such a huge advantage over going with a set of plans is that you are cutting your timeline by 80 to 90% by having these subcomponents assembled for you. So all you have to do is put them together to have a functioning wind turbine. If you go the plan route, there is a huge amount of time required to collect all the small parts that go into making a wind turbine.

If you've ever spent any time looking around the Internet, people that are building wind turbines and selling them to you have taken a tremendous amount of one's free time needed to get up and running out of the equation. If you are truly going the plan route you will likely spend a lot of weekends doing things like fashioning blades out of wood or polyethylene. Most people don't have the time or the desire to invest in this type of project.

That is why the home wind turbine kit has become so popular. The other big advantage that the wind turbine kit has over the alternatives that you have available is the fact that it is much cheaper than going with a dealer supplied product. If you go with the dealer, you are going to pay a lot more. The advantage of going with the dealer however is that you don't have to do any of the work yourself.

Going with the dealer they will do all of the analysis and the selection of a specific product that you need. This of course comes at a price. The dealer supplied wind turbine can be as much as $30,000-$40,000, whereas a wind turbine kit that will supply the same amount of power might be under $5,000.

In conclusion, the two biggest advantages of the wind turbine kit over other ways that you can get a wind turbine up and running on the fact that they don't require the time that the true do-it-yourself, build from a set of plans route will require. Furthermore, using old wind turbine kit is better than buying something strictly off the shelf from a dealer in that it will be much much cheaper.
