How Different Flyer Designs Will Help Catch The Eye

by Vickie Lexom

A good way to get your message across without spending a lot of money is by using flyers. You see flyers hanging on bulletin boards, stuffed under wiper blades in parking lots, in your mail and in stacks on tables at conventions and trade shows. Regardless of how you distribute the flyers, unless someone takes the time to actually read the information on the flyer, it isn't doing its job. That's why paying close attention to your flyer design is so important. Here are some key things to keep in mind when putting together a great flyer template design.

1. The flyer should be in color. Color, especially splashes of blue and red attracts the eye and builds interest.

2. Bold characters and block fonts also catch the eye. By putting "headlines" over important sections, you cause the person to notice the information in smaller print. Drawing the eye across the page and piquing interest with bold print is a very powerful way to keep someone interested in reading the flyer.

3. Using only one side of the page are usually how most flyer design templates are devised. To make sure your message is readable and will fit, you may need to refine it.

4. Make sure you put contact information such as company name, address, web site and phone numbers in a very visible place. This will enable the reader to find more information about your products and services easily and not pack it all on a flyer.

5. Have the flyer offer a promotion such as a percent discount or dollars off of product or services. This not only gives the reader a reason to read it, but to keep it as well.

6. To get the most out of your flyer design use it to only push one product or service. You will want to focus on one idea because of the limited space on the flyer, although you can suggest other services or products.

By being able to print flyer designs with as few or as many as you need and to suite any situation, flyers are a great thing. While you could work with a printing company to lay-out and design your flyer and have them print them, keeping all the flyer production in house gives you full control over the flyer design and printing. Not only will this save you time because you can make changes and immediately see how it'll look, but it'll save you money as well. Even though printing companies can produce cheap copies in volume, using your printer and your labor is significantly less expensive. Save time, save money and get your message across with great printable flyers you come up with.
