A Fujitsu S1500 Review And How To Save Money On Your Purchase

by Beth Collins

Many people have written reviews about their experience with the Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500, but a lot of the them are fairly short and say things like, "great machine...highly recommended." Hopefully, I can provide you with a Fujitsu S1500 review that it is complete and answers any questions you have about this product as this is based on my own personal experience with the machine.

Do You Really Need It?

You may be just like I was a couple years ago in regards to individual scanners. My initial thought was that it was silly to purchase one individually when you can just get an all-in-one printer/scanner/fax machine. While the all-in-one machines are great and save space, they do have their drawbacks. In regards to the scanner, the two major drawbacks are: 1) these scanners are incredibly slow and, 2) you have to flip the paper (in most cases) if you are scanning two-sided documents.

If you have a lot of documents to scan on a regular basis, it's easy to see how inconvenient it is to deal with an all-in-one machine. Not to mention, it's incredibly time-consuming as well. This is the situation I found myself in. I needed to scan a lot of documents several times a week and didn't want to spend all night doing it. In addition, I was given the job of scanning all my family pictures to preserve for my siblings and myself, which is what sent me shopping for a fast and reliable scanner. I decided on the Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 and am absolutely in love with it. If you do any type of scanning on a regular weekly basis, then you REALLY do need this scanner. It will make your life so much easier!

Product Features

Well, the first thing that you need to know is that the machine is incredibly fast. It will scan roughly 20 pages a minute...which translates into 40 pages a minute when you have double-sided documents! Next is the scan quality. The quality is great and has surpassed all of my expectations. It will scan in color, black and white and grayscale - up to 600 dpi. The photograph scanning is great too. The software included with the machine includes the following: Adobe Acrobat 9, Rack-Filer, and ABBYY FineReader. It is not compatible with TWAIN, which is the only notable drawback I could find with this product.

How to Save Money on Your Purchase

This scanner will save you a lot of time...and time is money. Speaking of money, if you want to find the best deal on this product, review your online options. That's what I did and I was able to get a great deal. In addition, many online vendors offer free shipping so that you will save even more - both time and money.
