Greco-Roman singlets and Freestyles is classified as international, whereby the neckline traditionally goes lower than the chest area, including the back and sides. You will need two of these singlets, one red and one blue typically. You may simply be asked to have one piece with reversible sides, each side being one of the two standard colors for lowel level competitions. For larger competitions, one for each color is a requirement that you have two separate singlets. If you are competing as a representative of a school, you can use scholastic or collegiate uniforms which can come in any color and design, usually of team logos or mascots, and with a cut higher than international uniforms.

Shoes

Wrestlers will normally not be allowed to get into a fight without the right shoes. If you are participating in a competition for the youth, you may be allowed to use regular gym shoes. But if you're joining a big event, wrestling shoes are a must. You have to find shoes that are comfortable and those that give you maximum control. You have to take into consideration the fit and size as well as the material. Before buying them, try them on because remember that wrestling shoes are usually larger than typical gym shoes. So you don't have to worry about slipping due to sweat or moisture, you also need shoes made of mesh.

Accessories

In case you need to wipe off blood, a blood rag which is any piece of cloth or hanky which you tuck under your single and pull out, and you may consider getting a head covering if you have a long hair, these are the two most common accessroty wrestling gear. Of these two, neither are required but it would be good to have them to preven discomfort and distractions and for the sake of convenience.

SAFETY

You're going to need safety gear to compete because wrestling is a contact sport. You need to get is headgear which is one of the most important things. Headgear will protect not only your skull but also your nose, ears and other parts of your head, from the term itself, as you compete. Normally, you will not be allowed to get into a game without this. For a wrestling newbie, a headgear made of soft material is perfect, although this type cannot be used in international fights, but for more experienced, those with surfaces that are harder are often required. Another requirement, for young wrestlers who have dental braces on, mouth guard is required. Shoes must come with lace covers to prevent accidents from loosened shoelaces, for all players.
