HONOLULU - Hawaii Self Storage opens its third Oahu location to the public tomorrow, Tuesday, January 2 at 8 a.m., after receiving numerous inquiries as to when the location will begin operations. Located at 2909 Waialae Avenue, Hawaii Self Storage " Kaimuki is a four-story, 171,000-square-foot facility with 1,600 climate-controlled units ranging from 16 to more than 400 square feet. The facility also features the latest in high-tech security systems, including individual locker alarms, 24-hour access, covered drive-in parking and unloading, and 24-hour security provided by more than 80 surveillance cameras and on-site staffing. The Kaimuki location offers 25 percent more cubic space on all walk-in units compared to the competition, and soon will begin offering vehicle storage, mailboxes, and kayak/one-man canoe storage capabilities. Like other MW Group self-storage facilities, Hawaii Self Storage " Kaimuki offers customers free use of a state-of-the-art business center featuring Internet access, phone and fax lines, personal laptop data ports, copy machines, and a conference room. Hawaii Self Storage " Kaimuki also continues the Hawaii Self Storage tradition of providing impeccable customer service, free estimates, free customer pickup, and free package receiving and forwarding.

In keeping with the previously established scholarship program benefiting students in Salt Lake/Mapunapuna and Leeward Oahu, Hawaii Self Storage also now is offering up to $4,000 college scholarships for eligible Kaimuki High School students. All schools whose students qualify to participate in this scholarship program are located near Hawaii Self Storage's three locations in Kaimuki, Salt Lake/Mapunapuna and Pearl City. The deadline to apply for the 2007 scholarships is February 15, 2007.

This is the third self-storage facility built from the ground up by local development company MW Group, Ltd. The company currently operates Hawaii Self Storage" Salt Lake, an 180,000-square-foot facility in Mapunapuna, and Hawaii Self Storage " Pearl City, a 120,000-square-foot facility that opened in 2005. MW Group plans to open a total of eight self-storage facilities on Oahu by 2008.
