Live As If You Were Going To Die
"For all sad words of tongue and pen, The saddest are these, 'It might have been.'" - John Greenleaf Whittier
You are going to die. Yes, someday death will come for you. When that day arrives are you going to wish that you spent more time in the office? Or will you wish that you spent more time doing what you wanted to do?
When setting any goal you must begin with the end result in mind. You must know what it is that you want before you can hope to get it. Put a date on it, then do it.
Your state of mind is of extreme importance. Focus on what you want, rather than on what you don't want. Develop an almost fanatical persistence to achieve your aim and realize that your Mind, Spirit and Body are your greatest assets.
"I do believe that people can do practically anything they set out to do if they apply themselves diligently and learn." - Cary Grant
Imagine how you would live your life if you could live it in any way that you choose. Imagine what you have done when it's all over. At your funeral what would you want people to say about you and how you lived?
Keep this memory in mind and write it down. This can be a kind of personal constitution, a map, on how you will strive to live. Travel opens the mind, liberates the spirit and frees the body. Only by traveling will you eventually come to understand different cultures, people, and the hardest of all, yourself.
Travel fills one's life with joy and showers them with the riches of the world.
Travel exercises the greatest gift you have - life.
Life is a game, but it is a precious game. You only play it once. Choose to play. Live as if you were going to die, because you will. Live now while you still can. When you are gone only memories will be left behind. Leave yourself and others with only your best. The world can be a little bit better for you having traveled its way. "Travel is one way of lengthening life, at least in appearance." - Ben Franklin
The Traveler/Adventurer
Travel is more than a trip or two. Your entire life is a journey. It can be dull and monotonous, or you can make it an exciting adventure. You have been given this gift of life. Honor and enjoy it by using it to its full advantage.
"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing." - Helen Keller
Pull out your Life List and begin to do those things you've always wanted to do. Cross them off one-by-one and feel the satisfaction it gives you each time. Start now. And don't think that you need to circle the globe to call yourself a traveler. You already are.
I wish you the greatest of success and I hope that through our travels, we will someday meet.
"Why then, the world's mine oyster, which I with sword will open." - William Shakespeare
