Summer Dining in London
Two of life's greatest pleasures are sunshine and fine dining. London is home to a plethora of delicious restaurants, but a shining sun is something of a rarity. Eateries all over the posh west end of the city have done their best to ensure that they are equipped for when it is shining. Some of the most gorgeous outdoor spaces in the city are:
Dean Street Townhouse:
Dean Street Townhouse is a boutique hotel located in Soho- London's most buzzing neighbourhood. The dining room is open for every meal of the day and serves traditional British and Irish cuisine. The décor is something to be admired. From vintage armchairs to stylish chandeliers, to black and white tiled floors, it's the perfect example of bistro chic. For lovers of Shoreditch House and Pizza East, take comfort in knowing that the same people are behind Dean Street Townhouse. For spring/summer dining book one of their outside tables. Their big green fabric canopies will protect you from the sun so that you can enjoy your food in comfort.
Pizza East Portobello:
It wasn't long ago that Pizza East opened in the Tea Building, Shoreditch. The very large and trendy restaurant made waves all across the city. For an affordable price, guests could enjoy great pizza, delicious olives and the casualness of long carpenter style tables and a great bar while they waited for their table. The idea was such a hit, that the owners decided to open up a second one in the funky west end neighbouhood of Notting Hill. Whether you're able to snag a table outside or not, you can enjoy the breeze that sweeps through the big French doors they leave open all summer long.
Circus:
In the mood for a show with your meal? Circus is one of London's most exciting restaurants and is located in the popular and bustling area of Convent Garden. With glass, cathedral ceilings, funky tables that performers can walk directly onto and dancer's poles, it boasts a flamboyant glamorous style. Okay, there is no outdoor space at this restaurant, but I couldn't resist including it in my review of London's best restaurants.
Home House:
Home House is a private member's club located in three Georgian town houses at 19,20 and 21 Portman Square. From architecture to interior décor, music to cocktails to blends old and new perfectly. One of the best parts? The pebbled and secluded garden set within the walled courtyard of the garden. Whether you're in the mood for an afternoon drink, lunch or dinner you can do it all in this beautiful Marylbone garden.
The list of fabulous London restaurants and cocktail bars goes on and on. These were just a few to wet your palettes and get your excited for some summer dining.
