For a football fan, traveling to Arizona for the Cardinal's football game is an exciting trip not to be missed. The University of Phoenix Stadium is the home of the Cardinals football team. It is situated in Glendale near the Jobing.com arena. Their best winning season was in 1998 and last year they went 8-8 their best record since 1988. Founded in 1898, the Cardinals are a charter member of the NFL and the oldest continuously run pro football franchise in the nation. The Phoenix stadium is all set to host the Superbowl in 2008. The stadium is a wonder in itself. It has the only playing stadium in the U.S. where the playing surface can be completely removed from the actual stadium. It has a retractable roof that allows a pre-determined amount of light and still provides shade.
