How to Open Yourself to Your Life's Purpose

Last year, Eckhart Tolle said something to Oprah, on her Soul Series radio show, about his book, A New Year: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose that got me thinking. He said,"Something is true when it resonates with and expresses your innermost Being, when it is in alignment with your inner purpose."
We find ourselves at a turning point, with today's economy and the growing number of job losses. There really is a great chance to find a career that is more aligned with who you truly are and your life's purpose. Maybe that last statement leaves you to think I am crazy, while you say to yourself, "I need money!" This is understandable and absolutely without question. This does not mean that you cannot work in order to meet your money necessities while at the same time continuing your journey toward a truer calling. Finding our life's purpose has many layers. One way to look at our life's purpose is to look at what we do in the world or the actions we take in our vocation. While this is true, what about us as human beings? Everybody can choose to be the best human being possible. Besides that choice, how do you begin to recognize your life's purpose? This raises some questions for consideration:
* What does your life's purpose mean to you? * Once I understand it, how do I find my life's purpose? * How can I be willing to be curious about myself and be open to growing and learning? * How do I live from my very best self while finding my deepest calling?
Consider this: we are happiest when our job or vocation flows out of who we truly are and our highest calling will always be for the highest good for both ourselves and everyone else. This means that in order to reach our highest good, it might be useful to consider moving toward living our life's purpose everyday, which includes our professions. To achieve this, it might be helpful to ask the following questions:
* Am I not connected to my deepest self right now? * If not, in what ways do I block or ignore my deeper/higher self that is aware of these answers? * What keeps me from listening to my inner voice? * If I do hear my inner voice, how do I proceed?
If I do hear my inner voice, how do I proceed?
You will build more self awareness, as you continue to get to know yourself more deeply. Be kind to yourself in the process by developing patience and learning to trust in a Wisdom that becomes clearer as you walk along the path of self-discovery. Then life's purpose will reveal itself layer by layer.
Remember that what we knew as our best choice when we were younger, which includes our occupation or vocation, might not be our highest choice now. So, with that in mind, allow yourself to be curious and continue to be open to learning and growing. This takes time, but bit by bit, we discover how to be more authentic, more aware and more useful to the world. This awareness provides the ultimate peace, wisdom and happiness when we know we are living our life's purpose day by day.
