The Autoresponder-Part I Also known as the email automatic responder.
As a website owners one of your most important tools is your email automatic responder, or autoresponder. Autoresponders come in many flavors. There are email automatic responder services, like Aweber, and Getresponse. These are good, but they are a monthly expense.
Then there are some great automatic responder scripts, that you can install on your own server. The good part about autoresponder scripst is, just a one time cost, and you are in control. There is no question about it a good email automatic responder can make you thousands of dollars.
Yes a good automatic responder can make you lots of money, but only if you know how to use it. Just like anything else in life there are tricks to the trade. Learning to use your autoresponder is really simple.
First decide on what type of automatic responder you want. A paid service, or your own script. Personally I use my own script, hosted on my own server. That way I have full control over everything. One of the problems a website owner my have is knowing how to install the script
Anyone that sells a autoresponder script should be willing to install the script for their client at no charge or for a very low fee. It should be a part of customer service. If a seller is not willing to do that, go someplace else.
There are many ways to use your automatic responder. Use your automatic responder as an immediate acknowledgement to those who send you information. Let the recipient know that you have received their message and when to expect a reply.
Create a FAQ document to answer commonly asked questions about your product or service. Use the familiar question and answer format.
Collect names and email addresses by using a capture form. This allows you to build a list and as marketers keep saying, "The money is in the list."
Make all your articles and newsletters available via autoresponder.
Offer free reports or e-courses to show your expertise to your customers. This is a great way to capture prospects' name and email address for future follow-up.
If you publish an e-book, put the different chapters or excerpts in your autoresponder.
Archive issues of past ezines and put some of the best ones in an autoresponder and let your prospects access them.
Send follow-up letters about your product. Most marketers agree that from 5 to 7 contacts are needed before a sale is made.
The autoresponder is the heart of your online presence. If the autoresponder it the heart, then what goes into it is the blood of the operation. the follow-up letters that you send to your clients is what will turn your list into buyer. It is what will keep buying customers happy and make return buyer out of them. These follow-up letters are very important and require a talented copy writer to turn prospects into buyers. Most people do not have what it takes to be able to write the kind of follow-up needed to grab those eyeballs and open those wallets. So what is the solution?
You can outsource the problem, but that will only create another problem-MONEY. Copywriter don't come cheap. Now there is another solution.
