Creating Games For Hawaiian Themed Parties By The Pool

by Gail Leino

There are a lot of fun and challenging games for Hawaiian themed parties by the pool. One of the best places to have a Hawaiian themed party is poolside because water games can be played. Guests can have a great time with pool games and activities while they stay cool. But not all Hawaiian party games have to take place in the water. There are plenty of fun games to play at a Hawaiian themed party both indoors and outdoors.

One of the great games for Hawaiian themed parties by the pool is sharks and fishes. In this game all of the guests are in the pool and one of the guests is the shark and the rest of the guests are the fishes. Each fish has to keep crossing back and forth across the pool without getting caught by the shark. Each time the shark catches a fish that fish becomes a shark. A prize will need to be given to the last swimming fish, as they will be the winner. Having party games for Hawaiian themed parties by the pool is a great way to have all party guests engaged in the party. This is also a great way to use ice breakers and help unfamiliar people get to know each other. One fun party game is to have everyone get in a circle and say their name with something Hawaiian or tropical that starts with the same letter as their name to the circle. The guests making up the circle repeat the name back. This will help the guests learn each other's names and have a great time.

But not all of the Hawaiian themed party games need to be by the pool. Having water at a Hawaiian themed party adds to the ambience of the party, but it doesn't have to be the focal point. Having a limbo contest is a fun Hawaiian game that will get people laughing. It is a good idea to have a prize for a limbo contest. A beautiful flower lei or other Hawaiian themed party gift is the best way to offer a reward to a clever party game winner.

Another of the games for Hawaiian themed parties by the pool is hooping. Hooping has become rather fashionable lately. It seems that everyone is doing it. Have a hooping contest where all the hula hoops are covered in grass skirts. This will be a fun and silly addition to any Hawaiian themed party.
