Park City Nighttime Entertainment
Contrary to what you may have heard about Deer Valley, there is an active nightlife. Actually, the Deer Valley/Park City area has more alcoholic beverage businesses per capita than any other place in Utah. If you are going to drink here you should know a couple things about Utah's liquor laws. A number of establishments that serve alcohol are considered private clubs. Visitors can acquire an cheap membership that's good for three weeks. This allows entrance and consumption of alcoholic drinks during that time period. So, technicalities aside, there are loads of places to get a good drink, listen to live entertainment, and dance; if that's in your vacation plans.
To find the greatest assortment of clubs and pubs, head to Park Citys historic district. If live entertainment is what you want, check out the Spur Bar and Grill on Main Street. Smoking is prohibited in this establishment. While it is cowboy themed, it is comfortable instead of rustic. Spurs sister location is 350 S. Main. Their Jupiter Cosmopolitan was chosen, in 2005, to be Park City's signature drink. Another place offering music in the form of jazz, funk or acoustic is Mother Urbans Ratskeller. It's well-known for their burritos and huge selection of bottled beers.
During the 2002 Winter Olympics, many famous people flocked to Harry Os. This hip dance club requires "club dress" and has live bands or a DJ. Lines are to be expected. Also be prepared for a heftier membership fee at this extremely popular hangout. Another place to dance is Ciseros. Cisero's is a crowded dance club on one floor and a top-quality dining establishment on the other.
Additional bars of interest are OShucks and No Name Saloon. OShucks is so-named for the endless amounts of oysters they serve. O'Shuck's is small and brings a crowdlots of locals. Tuesday nights offer $3 giant beers and hamburgers. Right next door is the No Name Saloon which provides live music and an enjoyable atmosphere. Other places for meals are Bandits Bar and Grill and Wasatch Brewing Company. Bandits is a laid-back place offering hearty meals of barbecue and steak fries. Wasatch Brewing Company also offers casual dining and local brews.
You don't be forced to travel far to locate a trendy, nighttime hangout in this area. Whether you are interested in a traditional pub, a romantic date bar, or a noisy dance club; you have more than enough options. Regardless of the time of year, you will find a drinking establishment to fit your personality and budget.
