Personal Story About Network Marketing, Frustrations And Illumination

Network marketing is like a marriage…you bond with an idea and a dream with a plan to live happily ever after. Like any relationship that doesn't meet expectations, you may seek a divorce, but in the end you find the right one.

You are first courted and may find yourself going through an engagement period where you receive a lot of information about benefits and potential money with the right association. And so one day you decide to sign a contractual agreement for distribution with hopeful expectations.

But why do so many network marketing partnerships end up in frustration and failure?

The reality is the core values of network marketing are right. It is about AVERAGE people who have above average dreams and willing to start with minimal cost and a little sweat equity to have a more fulfilled life for their family. It is about the most important business word called LEVERAGE or using information tools to expand your time and knowledge without physically being there. It is about residual income (versus linear income) where you work once and get paid multiple times through multiple levels.

So where does the system go wrong and "beat up" on customers? Can it be brought back on track?

Here is my personal story. Perhaps you can relate.

My first network marketing liaison was with a nutritional company. My sponsor lived a few hours away and I didn't put a lot of effort into it but learned a curious fact. Very few networkers actually achieve the success they hope for. Now why would any person go into a relationship with those odds? Why not design a better marketing system where 90% of people succeed with average effort, not fail. The good news is the change is simple based on the main principles of duplication and multiple levels found only in this business model.

My second network marketing union was with another nutritional company. This time I joined the right team and coaches to support my goals to success. I would earnestly follow the cha-cha-cha steps, the BEAUT technique, the time and training commitments. Sure, I managed to build a team but the effort was huge and absolutely unrealistic for other team members to duplicate my full-time efforts. And I certainly did not want to spend the rest of my life chasing endless prospects trying to explain the benefits and replace lost customers.

But the harder I worked as a leader for our team, the more impossible it became for anyone else to duplicate what I was doing. The more I discussed company, products, team, compensation, benefits, the longer the list of prospects grew, along with more "not interested" objections. Complexity beyond 3 facts lead to uncertainty and procrastination.

I played every inning in this game…took every swing…and from a democratic point of view, these strategies didn't work long-term:

---trade show promotion…new products are the most difficult to educate about ---high spending on corporate marketing CD's, DVD's with leaders' testimonials ---high spending on advertisements in newspapers, magazines, and more mailing costs to send out CD's and samples ---following up by phone to make appointments with prospects and team leaders ---sending direct mail offers to your prospect list on top of email and phone follow up ---writing articles and informational e-books with updated research ---listening to endless seminars about networking to find that "golden mind-set" ---maintaining daily checklists, weekly "exposures" or monthly promotions.

And then, as if demands weren't already enough, along came the Internet and more duties. This work at home job now expected me to go out and create personal websites, write articles, blogs, participate in forums, join social websites, generate lists and leads, cold call opportunity seekers, attend webinars, enroll in self-development seminars and so on.

It was time for a DIVORCE. And you can see why so many people close the doors with only bad memories and bad recommendations.

However, one day looking over the "debris" and mountains of paper, came a single insight…one real key that everyone could use over and over again. It was akin to casting a democratic vote where everyone could participate.

Here was the issue. Everybody was showered with information about excusive products, company, teamwork but very few people were shown the nuts and bolts that made this business model truly unique, professional and powerful. What about first learning the business principles on which network marketing is based? How about some vocabulary and a concept map with all the pieces and strategies that work? What about Education first, then Self-empowerment, now be ready to Change.

The opposite simply doesn't work where you jump into CHANGE so fast and hope it will increase your confidence and success immediately.

And so, my love affair with network marketing and its core values resumed in a new awareness.

Nobody starts a home business because they read a brochure of benefits or a website full of details.

Nobody joins a business partnership with a virtual stranger on the internet regardless of traffic and list building.

Nobody continues a business where your costs are significantly more than your profits because everyone else faces the same problems of poor marketing skills or help.

Nobody explains to you the basics of network marketing and how residual cash flow is created or constricted. Just think, before you started, what if, you had the chance to uncover some basic business fundamentals and marketing techniques that work for average people with no business experience. You could apply what works immediately.

Now, here are TWO MAIN problems you must avoid:

1. Information Overload...expensive...too many objections.

2. Complex training...time-consuming...can't duplicate programs. There is no mass appeal. There is nothing democratic about trying to become a MLM magnetic guru. You may choose to do this...but you don't have to.

You want a home business marketing plan that is not based on special skills or business background.

You qualify if you can use a phone, send an email and read a 3 Steps summary.

You want a home business plan with the potential to make 100's, 1000's weekly and/ or monthly with a product that the marketplace desperately needs.

You want a home business with a very short learning curve and inbuilt training program as well as an automated system to reach as many people as you wish.

TALL ORDER. You bet...but nothing else will work as well in this unique home business model.

I finally have met my Home Business Prince with all the great qualities for a long and prosperous partnership. The vision of freedom and independence burns brightly.

I am again excited by the home business of the future for all the right reasons. Network Marketing and Internet Marketing have merged with a valuable free service and income potential.
