Gardening Jobs you must do throughout Jan and Feb!
January/February. For the gardener these are exciting times. Days may be short and drear, light levels low, the nights long and cold but outside, even in this the bleakest of periods, the garden is far from lacking in interest. Early bulbs push through the cold earth to lighten the dark days. Lovely dwarf iris, drifts of crocus, pale snowdrops with sword-like leaves, tiny daffodils, all are the welcome harbingers of approaching spring. Leaves, retained throughout the winter, are prominent now. Lustrous ivies, clinging to walls and trees, shiny hollies, glistening laurels, the dull copper of beech, each contributes form and pattern to a bare landscape. Trees, hedges and shrubs, already in bud, emphasize the framework of the garden.
