It's pretty easy to get into credit card debt, getting out is often harder. Giving yourself and education in getting out of credit card debt is one of the most valuable skills you can aquire. Your current budget will probably need to be reassessed in order to find the money you need to begin a program of debt reduction. You will need to make sure your income is high enough and your expenses are low enough that you can make your payments, and pay more than the minimum balances on your credit cards to get them paid off. Once you go over your budget, you may find that the minimum is all you can pay. But the fact is that this is important stuff. If you don't make enough, consider getting another job, a second job or starting a business to increase your income. Consolidation loans are another option. Probably not the best option as they encourage you to take on more debt to get rid of old debt. And since there isn't any guarantee that the old debt won't return (unless you destroy the credit cards) you may end up with a bigger problem down the road.It's important to get your plan down on paper, and start right away. The information is available to you if you seek it out. There are some good companies out there who can help. There are ebooks. There is free information online and in the library. Sometimes it seems difficult when you look at large debts and know that your life would be better without them. But if you follow your plan, you will succeed in getting out of credit card debt.
