Technology is making credit acquisition much quicker

by Darren Eliss

Let’s face it, most of the occasions when we need a loan are during pressing times. Nobody takes out a loan for £3,250 on the off-chance that they are going to need that amount sometime in the next twelve months. In such a case it would be more cost-effective to save up and pay off a larger deposit and thereby reduce the size of the loan, saving many pounds in the process. So given that we take out loans when we have an immediate need for cash, why has it always been such a slow process? A week may not seem a long time to get thousands of pounds, but if it’s the difference between landing a bargain and going without, it can be several days too long. The situation can be even worse for certain types of loan that are subject to stricter regulations. For some applications the loans company is bound by law to give the lender a set period of consideration and they are prevented from contacting the customer during that time. Many customers do not realise this and just wait, not realising that they could speed up the process by contacting the lender themselves.Quick loans are, however, becoming more and more normal. Nowadays, credit acquisition can be a simple case of providing a few personal details and waiting for a response. Because the lenders have access to your credit rating information, your name and postcode can be all that’s required to get a provisional agreement, although thankfully, for security purposes a lot more robustness has been built in to the system. If you’ve ever bought an item on credit from a shop, however, you’ll be aware of how easy it is to walk out of the store with a spanking new item after a few simple checks have been made. Now that credit can be sought online, you don’t even need to go through your front door to swiftly find your bank account topped up with a useful deposit. It’s always worth checking the various loan providers to see if any of them specialise in quick loans if the need really is urgent. Your credit rating will be a key factor, but if you’re a homeowner you could well be in a great position to benefit from a secured loan with the minimum delay.
