Diet Plans And Menus - Reviewing The Forking Diet

by Levi Reiss

There are dozens and dozens of diet menus and plans. The Forking Diet is really very simple; for supper you are restricted to eat only those foods that you can manage with a fork but no knife or spoon. There are no restrictions on your other meals. The Forking Diet comes in two versions, the strict and the soft. The strict version lets you lose weight more rapidly. It bans any dish whose preparation requires a knife. The second version's goal is permanent weight loss. For supper you may eat foods that were prepared with a knife, but set the tables without a knife or a spoon. And don't even think about eating with your fingers. According to Forking Diet partisans eating only with a fork means that you will end up eating smaller amounts of food and more or less foregoing those calorie-rich sauces. Here are some of the principles.

Don't cheat by using your teeth to cut food that you would normally cut with a knife, such as steak. And just like you learned as a child, do not eat with your fingers. The strict version of this diet allows you to enjoy vegetables, grains, legumes, fish, and prepared foods . The soft version adds salads, pieces of white meat, shelled crustaceans, raw beef, and eggs to the list of permitted foods. For supper, you cannot eat soup, bread, cheese, and dessert. Eat normally the rest of the day. Eat what you want but make sure to consume dairy products and fruits for a balanced diet. Eat five portions of fruits or vegetables per day. Make sure that you have lots of vegetables for supper. By avoiding sweets and a lot of fats you may find that your general health improves, as well as losing weight. Unlike many other diets, this one does not come in phases. You are suggested to follow it forever.

A major advantage of the Forking Diet is its social aspect. You can eat out with friends. A disadvantage is the lack of sweets at suppertime. Many poplular diets place a major focus on wine. The Forking Diet does not.

Here is a sample menu: For Breakfast: An English muffin with ham, an orange juice, a pear, and cup of tea or coffee. For Lunch: Spinach lasagna, a green salad, a yogurt, and an apple. For Supper: A beet salad and couscous with vegetables.

I wasn't able to find a Forking Diet book on the Internet. But there was additional information easily available.
