The Lean Belly Prescription: An Article Review

by Jessie Andrews

<br />Everybody knows that having lots of extra fat on our bellies is not good. Not only is it accountable for the "muffin tops" all of us detest so much, it puts real pressure on our bodies while adding to issues like heart disease, diabetes and more. There is a fresh book, however, titled The Lean Belly Prescription that, according to the marketing, will help you lose your muffin top while simultaneously improving your health.

You can find the book at a "regular" book selling internet site like Barnes and Noble, Borders as well as on Amazon.com. This helps provide trustworthiness and legitimacy to the book. It can also help make it less difficult to buy because you don't have to worry about some affiliate giving a trumped up review to ensure they earn a commission on a product that doesn't help you. The book is also written by Travis Stork. You might recall him from the show "The Bachelor" or recognize him as one of the doctors on the syndicated daytime show "The Doctors." Obviously, though, he's more than a television personality. He is an actual medical doctor who works as an emergency room physician at a real hospital.

Dr. Stork uses the book to promote his Pick 3 to Lean course. With the Pick 3 to Lean course, you are provided the ability to customize your lifestyle and eating habits without being forced to spend a bunch of time working out or exercising at the gym. This program promises that you will be able to shed pounds and never having to abstain from any of the things you like the most (food, free time, etc). The idea behind this plan is called the Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis (or N.E.A.T) theory. This theory states that it is possible to use up calories without having to work out.

From what we read, this particular book makes a lot of nice promises but does not offer up any new or particularly revelation-worthy information. In fact, the majority of the advice found in this book can be found through a few simple Google searches and basic common sense. It will likely be incredibly disappointing for those who were looking for a real reason behind the directions the book gives. The publication will not go into theory very much in the least. It simply gives readers a lot of instructions and plans and tells them to follow them. This is a great book for somebody who enjoys being given instructions but doesn't like to bother about why the instructions are given.

Traditional common sense shows us that the only real way to lose weight is to take in good food and get regular exercise. This book does not use that common logic so there isn't any real way to tell whether or not it will work the way the marketing promises it will. Of course, it's certainly worth a look, particularly if you get permission from your physician (your own doctor, not the doctor who wrote the book).
