A Cure for Ringing Ears: Can You Really Cure Ringing Ears Or Is This Just A Big Fat Lie?

by Lee Murray Jr.

Tinnitus. This is the official term for those phantom noises (such as high-pitched ringing) that 1 in 7 American adults deal with on a daily basis. If there were a cure for ringing ears, it sure would be a momentous occasion. Heck, it would easily make the 5 o'clock news and there would be people lining up around the block to receive their brand new prescriptions. But that's not the reality. Tinnitus has no cure.

Really, why would it?

Chronic ear ringing is a symptom, after all, and not an actual disease. I mean, is there a "cure" for itchy skin? "Well," you might say, "it depends on what's causing your skin to itch. If you've got poison ivy, your cure will be different than if you've got a food allergy... or chicken pox... or a sunburn." And you'd be right in saying that.

A cure for ringing ears is just as absurd a notion, as tinnitus has many potential causes. And a cure for an overly acidic bloodstream will vary wildly from a cure for nerve damage... or a medical side effect... or high blood pressure... or atherosclerosis... or anxiety. I hope you see where I'm going with this. You cannot cure tinnitus, but you can very easily cure (or at least effectively treat) whatever it is that happens to be causing your tinnitus.

This is profound knowledge that many so-called tinnitus experts will never share with you because it isn't conducive to them peddling their latest and greatest "one-stop tinnitus cure" to you. But it is simply delusional to think that any one treatment is the be-all end-all answer. And making the mistake of falling for these miracle cures can end up costing you a lot of money... and false hope.

But all is not lost. There are universal measures that all tinnitus sufferers can take to alleviate their symptoms. And there are certain leverage points, such as body detoxification, which can restore you to optimal health in many ways; and curing your ringing ears may be one of these ways. Masking (white noise therapy) is also a good idea for all tinnitus sufferers, as its effects are immediate and often quite significant.

Cure For Ringing Ears - Some Universal Measures:

Earwax removal - excess earwax in the ear canal can cause tinnitus.Medication change - certain medicines (especially quinine based meds) can cause tinnitus.Surgery - this can repair misalignments, some nerve damage, etc.Major dietary shift - toxic buildup can lead to tinnitus; detox may help.Time - occasionally, ringing ears will get better on their own. This is not a definitive list, nor is it exhaustive. In many cases, a cure for tinnitus will entail a whole series of treatment steps, which over time will result in the complete elimination of tinnitus symptoms. Again, this is why there can be no "one stop cure" for ringing ears. There are just too many variables and each individual case can be so radically different from the next.

If you must spend money on a product to supposedly cure ringing ears, then I would advise you to either look in the direction of a masking device (or CD), or an informational product that teaches you about tinnitus and your treatment options. I'd avoid supplements until you've been able to secure an accurate diagnosis of your particular problem.
