Messes are an inevitable part of life. If you are tired of the same old routine, here are a few creative ways to break out of your cleaning rut.

Forget the Feather Duster

Dust is everywhere. It seems to multiply when you're not looking. If you want to show the dust who is boss, consider using an air compressor to tackle this chore. To find the right kind of compressor hose, click here. If you are blowing dust or debris out of large areas, you may want to wear a mask. You can adjust your settings or use alternate equipment for smaller jobs, such as getting into those hard-to-reach nooks and crannies in your car. Some people use compressed air around the office to clean out their keyboards. You can also blow dust off of your curtains or tidy up wicker patio furniture. Make sure before you begin that the pressure settings are appropriate for the items you are working on.

Elbow Grease Not Required

Is your microwave starting to look like a science project gone wrong? Rather than scrubbing the inside until your muscles scream in protest, channel a little cleaning magic with a bowl of water, lemon, and vinegar. Zap it in the microwave for a few minutes, then wipe the area clean. For stubborn stains or grime, just dip your cloth in the heated mixture for extra cleaning power.

Attack of the Stubborn Toilet Ring

Do you have hard water stains or a ring around your commode that makes you lock the door when company arrives? Give it the boot by purchasing a special pumice stone that can scrub the mess away. You can also wet a paper towel with white vinegar, place it around the ring overnight, and then wipe away the grime the next morning.

Pine-Sol and Pilates

If you just can't stand the sight of your mop for one more day, ditch it and search online for a workout that marries clean floors with tight abdominals. Yes, these do exist. Grab a cloth, turn on the music, and tone your thighs while you shine up your linoleum.

A Medicinal Approach

All this cleaning might lead to indigestion. Grab a few antacid tablets, take your share, and then toss the rest in the sink. Dropping these down the drain with a cup of vinegar can de-clog your drain. Follow up with a flush of hot water and you're good to go. You can also grab your compressor hoseand blast that clog like a boss.

Turn Your Appliances into Maids

Get creative and assign your appliances to double duty in order to keep your house sparkling clean. Rather than subjecting yourself to scrubbing the gunk out of your toothbrush holder (a job that could lead to an increase in therapy bills), rinse it out and place it in the top rack of your dishwasher. If you have started cowering in the corner to avoid your shower curtain, toss it into the washing machine with detergent and a few towels to rub it clean, then hang it to dry. There is no need to run yourself ragged when you have machines to do your dirty work!

Beat Cleaning Burn-Out

If you have to clean anyway, why not take a new approach and defeat boredom? Grab a compressor hose, recruit your appliances, and get to work.
