What Can You Smoke Legally That Is A Viable Alternative To Cannabis?

Staying legal is easier than you might think...

by Sam Qam

Since the failing of Prop 19 in the California ballot, which would have made some inroads towards the legalisation of cannabis in some parts of the world, people have been reinvigorating their efforts to find viable legal alternatives. There are so many different variations of herbs out there that there is no way that each and every one which has some kind of effect on your sensibilities will be made illegal. With this in mind, here is a nice handy list of some of the best legal herbal blends with some extra legal oomph!

Greengo

This is a tobacco like substance blend of herbs which has none of the properties of tobacco, aside from the fact that you can smoke it. It emits a spicy smell and is technically legal to smoke indoors, as it is not harmful (though I wouldn't try it). There is no nicotine, less tar and is only made of four herbs: hazel leaf, papaya, mint and eucalyptus. It can be purchased in the same kind of pouch as you get tobacco in and can be rolled in exactly the same fashion.

Happy Herb

This is a smoking blend which is rapidly growing in popularity as it gives you a real, legal high and is completely legal. This herbal mix includes passion flower, wild lettuce and damiana. These combine to give you a mellow high, while not as strong as cannabis, is still worthy of a try.

Super Skunk Smoking Blend

Despite its highly illegal sounding name, Super Skunk contains no cannabis products at all. It is made up of a blend of damiana, passion flower and wild lettuce (much like Happy Herb above) and is said to have a psychoactive effect on the smoker. You can smoke this stuff like a cigarette or in a bong or vaporizer.

Wild Lettuce

Otherwise known as Latuca Virosa, Wild Lettuce has been used in the UK as an alternative to opium since the Victorian period. After crushing in a herb grinder and smoked, it can cause a mild sedative sensation, though is not as strong as cannabis. While the Victorians enjoyed collecting cannabis seeds, they would often opt for Wild Lettuce before going to the trouble of growing cannabis plants.

Trance Club Blend Herbal Re-Mix

Another take on the wild lettuce, dried and ready to smoke. This brand packages it as pure opium lettuce extract...more to the point I suppose.
