Tennis Fitness - Ways Tennis Players Can Get A Great Core

by Ben Cummings

Let me talk about why having a strong core is so important in your tennis game, and great ways on how to achieve a stronger core.

Why is developing a strong core so crucial? It's the ultimate weapon of all tennis professionals. Many spend hours regularly with personal trainers, ensuring that their core is in best condition for competition.

It can supply extra stamina and shot power. Moreover, your tennis serve power will be increased.

Even on the beginner level, your core is essential for your game as you learn tennis. It frees pressure on your back by steadying your mid-section. Having a firm core also maintains great posture, holding your spine erect and your body backed up as you execute difficult movements, like sprints. Moreover, having a strong core will enchance your balance when you chase down ground strokes.

Challenge yourself to try new forms of exercise. Yoga or Pilates are excellent ways to build your core. Cross training programs like P90X are also effective alternatives. Pick one or dabble in them all!

Add resistance training into your exercise. If combining a new type of exercise to your regimen seems deluging, try combining some new techniques instead. Utilize medicine balls and resistance bands if possible. To gain a strong core, you've got to truly push yourself.

Supply a medicine ball into your daily routine. Adding weight with sit ups will bring a stronger punch. Do a pullover crunch. Lie on your back with your knees crouched. Hold the ball above your head at total arm extension. Do a usual sit up, taking the ball up with you, towards your knees. This is a challenging exercise, but a good one!

There are several types of this workout, all of which will result to a more solid core.

Many beginners are intimidated by doing a new workout program, but by making your investigation and learning how the muscles will impact your game, you'll have an enhanced apprehension of how your body works as the ultimate tennis tool.

Others may feel drowned by the requirement to add even more workout into an already fussy schedule. Start slow - for three days a week, try working in moves to improve your core. By enhancing your overall physical fitness degrees, you'll discover your game will feel more smooth and comfortable.

Comply with these tips and you'll see the powerful results they'll have on your tennis game - I guarantee it.
