Computer Eye Strain Symptoms - Some Common Things to Look For
The penetration of the computer into our way of life has had a wondrous technological effect on all aspects of our lifestyle and world. Unfortunately with the enhanced usage also comes some negative effects, as well, chief among them is eye strain from computers or Computer Vision Syndrome. Simple eye strain is nothing to worry about, as the Mayo Clinic points out, and can be conquered by simply getting rest. Working at a computer may also produce afterimages when looking away from a monitor or disrupt the ability to shift focus between a monitor and paper documents.
This is not an exhaustive list of potential symptoms, but just some that may indicate that your eyes have been overworked. Because our bodies vary dramatically, the way in which our eyes respond to overwork varies, as well.
Even though eye strain from computers can be annoying, it cannot lead to serious macular degeneration. However, we all still strive to be one hundred percent in our demanding lives and computer eye strain symptoms rob us of our vitality and general well-being.
The good news is that these symptoms and their effect on our lives are not forever and can be treated without having to give up our computer intensive work schedule. Sometimes it can be as simple as blinking, taking a break, or eating a better array of nutritious foods.
