Our Own Mary Pope Osborne
There are numerous writers from the past who wrote stories and fairy tales. Many are still remember and admired, but none of them have the following which Mary Pope Osborne has. Children and young readers simply love her narratives.
She was an explorer and liked experiencing the nature all around her. According to her, she spent most of her time on bike riding, hunting and playing with her siblings. Her childhood memories engraved in her mind and remained fresh till date. These memories are her inspiration for writing. She has a passion of writing books for children. She loves her job and according to her there is no better career in world then writing books for children. She enthusiastically enjoys using her memories and imagination to make master pieces like the famous magic tree house series.
Some people think that their childhood would have been incomplete without the famous Magic Tree House Series. She is the writer behind the favorite children stories of Jack and Annie. This was an inspiration from her childhood and her relationship with siblings. What influenced her to become a writer is not really a mystery. Her father had a military background and he was posted quite a time with family. This traveling and staying at different places made Mary an adventure loving child. She used to travel and explore the places. She enjoyed her youth having healthy relationship with her siblings. Her surroundings taught her a lot. All these observations and discoveries made impact on her memories that now reflects in her stories. She has written more than hundred books for children. Her books cover both aspects; learning and adventures. This gives reader a reason to read a work of art.
After retirement of her father, she settled in North Carolina. This didn't stop her passion to travel. She traveled and explored whenever she could find time. She traveled a lot but finally settled with her family. She was not at rest at all. She tried many jobs like; teaching, being a waitress, serving as a bartender, travel consultant and even medical assistant and not even one of these careers gave her satisfaction. And just like that one day while sitting on a bench she happened to start writing a story about an eleven year old girl who shared the enjoyed a colorful and adventurous childhood such as hers. She enjoyed writing it a lot and that's when she found her passion for writing and so she became a writer. She started writing books in the decade of 70's and she loved being a writer. Today, even at the age of 63, she is still young at heart and writing numerous books for children to get inspired.
