Start A Business For Under $150

by Lesley Thomas

With so many people today with various aches and pains, there is an amazing product that not a lot of people know about.

And I honestly have to say to the lucky reader who actually takes this idea and runs with it- you will make a ton of money. There is no company out there anymore that produces the product as good as I am about to teach you.

The product I am referring to is called an herbal heating pack. For those that don't know, an herbal pack is a microwaveable pad (it can also be put in the freezer for cold therapy, too) that is made from different fillers and herbs, all inside a cotton (or something like it) cover.

They only cost $1.00 each if produced at the right quantities. And they sell for $20, or more.

Before I get into how they are constructed and the materials you will need to make them, as well as what else you will need, I want to tell you what is wrong with all of the herbal packs available today.

The fillers are usually flax seed, rice, barley and whatever manufacturers throw in- I have seen some from the biggest distributor made with sticks and boll weevils crawling out of them.

Flax seed is the only filler (and it should be golden flax seed)that should be used in these packs for many different reasons. The main reason is that the flax seeds contain oil, and that oil stays hot for a long time. Like everything, though, the oils do fade and the packs do not retain the heat for as long as they used to. But they will last over 4 or 5 years, and your customers will come back for more.

The other option that must be available for your customers is to have scented herbal packs or packs with only the flax seed. There are a lot of people that do not like smells, or are very sensitive to them. While the various herbs are part of the therapy, combining aromatherapy and heat/cold therapy, the options should be given.

Like any other product, there are plenty of others doing it, but not many are doing a quality product.

Now to the nitty gritty- the basics of what you need and the costs.

1. A website or store front, or both. Or none. You can simply use your phone, vehicle, and body to do this, more of which I will explain in a minute. Cost? Time and a little bit of gas, or maybe $15 for a domain name and hosting plan online.

2. Cotton, flax seed, and herbs. You can make your own blend, but most of the herbal heating packs today contain lavender, chamomille, peppermint, spearmint, rosewood, and many others. Choose what you like, and leave options open for your customers...the possibilities are endless. Cost? Cotton, herbs, and flax seed- $100 for enough to make about 40-50 packs of various sizes.

3. Maybe you already have a sewing machine. If you don't, you pick up a good second hand for around $35. If you look around enough, you may even find one for under $20.

4. Business license- check your state for applicable laws. It is a lot easier than it seems, you just have to go the right information. Search the web for the local business license requirements in your area. Even in California, they are only around $15 depending on where you live. the forms are easy, and the response is very fast.

So there you have it. These are basic costs to start up, and what that means is this-

You will have enough products to launch online, or simply take them around and sell them. The best places to sell these products are- Doctor's offices, spas and salons (sell them to the business as free gifts for their clients, or additional addons for different deals), chiropractic offices, and any other place that you can think of where people need pain relief and relaxation.

This is a wonderful product and field to be in because you are helping relieve pain and suffering in other's lives, and you get paid to do it.
