Managing Scrapbook Supplies

by Debbie Luker

I love organizing my scrapbook materials nearly as much as I love scrapbooking! I have a difficult time finding nice neat ways to organize my papers, stickers, and punches. After much research and testing, here are some organizational strategies that are not only efficient but cheap as well!

12 x 12 papers: This one is hard to find storage for! I hunted everywhere for a cheap way to store these papers and all I could find were holders that cost up to $150. However, soon I discovered a solution that cost only $12. I purchased some cube wire shelves that you simply snap together. I formed three cubes and used the remaining squares to make shelves which I fastened on with zip ties. I put some cardboard in a page protector on each shelf so that the paper would slide in and out easier.

8 x 11 papers: I just purchased some magazine holders and store my paper vertical. This technique frees up lots of space.

Stickers: I aquired a 12 x 12 accordion file with numerous pockets. I marked each pocket with a topic like animals, holidays, and letters and then simply put the stickers into the file in which they belonged.

Punches: A set of little plastic desktop drawers fits all my punches wonderfully.

Small Embellishments: A tackle box with numerous little compartments fit different kinds of embellishments together in one place.

I sincerely hope that a few of these tips have aided you in becoming a little more organized if you begin to organize, you may love it as much as scrapbooking!
