Every year we all say that we are going to do something different for our summer holidays however only a majority of people will ever go somewhere different. <br/><br/> The majority of people seem to favour Spain of Turkey for their holidays this article will look at another option for you to consider when you are thinking about booking your holiday this year check out some of the different places you could visit by doing something different. <br/><br/> Cruise – Not just for Pensioners <br/><br/> A lot of people assume that cruises are for old people and not really designed for families however this could not be further from the truth or that cruises are to formal. These days cruise companies spend a lot of time thinking about the facilities that they can provide for families in 2008 P & O launched the largest ship in their fleet Ventura which has a life size Scaletrix track which allows you to relive your childhood and show your kids how it's done. Most cruise ships these days have Kids Clubs for the younger kids to Dens for the teenagers. <br/><br/> One of the best things about cruise holidays is the different places that you can see. Check out some of the fantastic destinations that you can see. <br/><br/> • Monaco – Home of the rich and famous and home of the shortest F1 circuit you can spend some time walking along part of this famous race track or take a leisurely stroll up to the palace to see the changing of the guard whilst also marvelling at the panoramic views that can be seen from the Palace Palisades. • Rome – Here you can visit the Colosseum and take a walk around this famous Gladiatorial Arena, you could also pay a visit to the Trevi Fountain take a picture of this wondrous sight and make a wish by throwing a coin into the fountain, you can also pay a visit to Vatican City marvels in the sheer size of Vatican City. • Katakolon – From here you go to Olympia the birthplace of the Olympics which have been traced back to 776BC, why not try to get a group together and see who can run 100 metres the fastest just remember to keep your top on or you could get arrested. • Athens - Home to the Parthenon temple which is on the Athenian Acropolis this wondrous site is a must for any visitor to Athens • Egypt – Go and see the Pyramids of Giza or The Sphynx which are true wonders of the world, you can also visit the Egyptian Natural Museum the home of the Tutankahmun Gold Death Mask. <br/><br/> Along with these wondrous places to see you will always find something to do on board weather you prefer to sit on deck sipping a cocktail or going to the gym for a daily workout to enjoying a quiet drink in one of the bars on board whatever you choose you will always find something to do on board. <br/><br/> Cruise the Canal du Bourgogne <br/><br/> If you are still not convinced about going on a cruise why not try a French canal cruise taking in the sites of France, on a French canal cruise you will be transferred from Paris to Pont d'ouche where you will cruise down the Canal du Bourgogne, there is a lot of opportunities to disembark the barge to allow you to walk or cycle along the banks of the canal or take the opportunity to stay on board and take part in some cookery lessons learning to cook Quiche Lorraine and Ravioli filled with a light chicken and herb mouse.
