Micro minerals:
Zinc: It is liable for generating new cells in the follicles and therefore it promotes growth. Its deficiency would case hairloss problems like hair fall. Zinc is found among mushrooms, spinach and whole grains.
Iodine: Iodine controls functions of thyroid gland. Its imbalance will form hyperthyroid and hypothyroid. Both of these conditions are the reason for hair trouble. Iodine is present in iodized salts, garlic and sea weeds.
Selenium: This mineral is beneficial for growth of strands and controls iodine functions. Hairloss arises due to its deficiency. Broccoli and whole grains are good to include in your diet to increase selenium mineral in the body.

Copper is required for melanin synthesis to give hair-strand its natural color. Its deficiency will give rise to problem of hairloss. Improper copper metabolism causes hair-shaft genetic disorder called as Menkes Syndrome. Have water in copper vessel as it helps in improving the copper content of the body.
Iron: Iron deficiency results in anemia that leads to hairloss and diffuse type of hair-thinning. It is commonly seen in Indian females of fertile age group because of the menstruation and pregnancy. Iron deficiency in children give rise to typical hair problem like premature greying. Below items contains high amount of iron:
1. Grains and Cereals: Rice flakes, barley (bajra).
2. Beans and pulses: lentils, cow pea, soybean, lobia (black eye beans).
3. Vegetables containing iron: beetroot greens, parsley, mint contain iron in good proportion. Broccoli also has high Vitamin C in turn supports to take up iron in the body.
4. Sea vegetables contain iron in high proportions.
5. Spices: Turmeric
6. Fruits: Watermelon, raisins, dried dates.
Chromium: It has a pivotal role to play in metabolism of glucose and therefore its deficiency has direct impact on the glucose level leading to hair problem such as hairloss.
Manganese: Its deficiency will reduce the growth rate and alter the pigmentation of hair. If present in excess it causes anemia as it causes iron deficiency, further hairloss problem will aggravate if accompanied with the iron deficiency problem. High amount of manganese is found in oats, wheat bran, wheat germ soybeans, cereals, pulses, whole wheat grain bread, parsleys, cottage cheese and pulses.
